European soccer teams traveling by bus because of volcano

Riding a bus for hundreds of miles is something that the highest paid athletes in the world just don’t do, generally. But because of the ash kicked up after the eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull.

The Associated Press reported that Barcelona “was forced to use buses for the 450-mile trip to Milan after flights were grounded due to the cloud of volcanic ash from Iceland that has spread across Europe in recent days.”

I wonder what was the last time that Thierry Henry rode a bus for 450 miles.

Icelandic volcano even effecting pro wrestling

The WWE crew picked a bad week to be in Europe; they are stuck in Belfast because of the shutdown in flights in Europe and will miss Monday Night Raw tonight and possibly the taping of Smackdown tomorrow (Smackdown airs on Fridays but is taped on Tuesdays).

It is all a result of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull which sent ash into the air and grounded flights throughout Europe.

And it could get worse. Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun, possibly the only newspaper in the country to have a pro wrestling blog, has more:

At this rate, WWE officials probably need look into the possibility of getting the crew to an area in which air travel is not restricted to ensure that the crew makes it back to the U.S. in time for next’s Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view in at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore.

Pro wrestling is effected! Now things have got truly serious.
